Speakers

Carlos Viana (CEO) is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of a deep tech startup company, ICON Photonics SAS, developing advanced chip optical I/O interconnects for the next generation connectivity. He holds a PhD in Photonics from Université Paris-Est, France and he has more than 10 years of experience in photonics technologies, Administration & Business development.

Director of Product Management at Jabil

Dr. Offermans received his PhD in Applied Physics from Eindhoven University of Technology in 2005. After a post-doctoral stay at Materia Nova in Mons, Belgium, he joined CSEM SA in Muttenz/Basel, Switzerland, in 2007. At CSEM he has lead the activity on printed polymer photovoltaics. Since 2019 he is responsible for the development of large area UV-imprinting technologies at CSEM. Since September 2021 he is the Technical Coordinator of the Phabulous Pilot Line.

Ton Offermans
Technical Coordinator at PHABULOuS Pilot Line / CSEM

Kevin Williams (Professor) graduated in Electronic Engineering from the University of Sheffield and received his PhD from the School of Physics at the University of Bath in 1995. He subsequently moved to the University of Bristol where he was awarded a Royal Society university research fellowship to study high speed and high power semiconductor lasers. In 2001 he moved to the University of Cambridge where he was also appointed a Fellow and lecturer at Churchill College Cambridge. In 2006, Kevin moved to the Technical University Eindhoven to take up an EC Marie Curie Chair award. In 2011 he received a Vici award from the Dutch NWO to perform research into large-scale high-performance photonic integrated circuits. He is presently leading the Photonic Integration group at the COBRA research institute.

Professor at TU Eindhoven/JePPIX

Luca Mauri, graduated in Physics from the University of Milan in 2002, joined SAES Getters in 2003. Currently, he is the responsible of the Getters and Dispensers Development Laboratory. The main focus of the laboratory is the development and integration of getter solutions for electronic, optoelectronic and MEMS devices. He has more than 15 years of experience in thin film deposition, hermetic packaging and gas sorption materials.

Head of Getter & Dispenser Dev. Lab at SAES Group

Pierre Wahl (Founder) co-founded Luceda Photonics in 2014 where he is in charge of sales, support and training operations. At Luceda he trains and supports R&D teams of major corporations, research institutes, foundries and universities in China, North America and Europe. He completed a PhD in opto-electronics at the Free University of Brussels and Stanford University on ultra-low energy optical interconnects in 2014 and obtained a master degree in photonics from the University of Gent and the Free University of Brussels in 2010. He has co-authored multiple journal publications and delivered various talks around specialized design, simulation and optimization techniques used in integrated photonics.
